Darpan runs in three kinds of place: your own machine for development, a hosted test environment, and the hosted production app. Each has its own app and API addresses, and they do not share accounts or data. Knowing which one you are in saves a lot of “why is my run missing” confusion.

Local development

Local development supports behavior changes and validation. See Set up Darpan independently.

Hosted environments

The test environment is for release smoke testing and workflows that need stable external access before a change reaches production. A dedicated instance runs on its own hosts, which the team running it provides. For what each session mode means in practice, see Login and session.
Published docs use placeholders for credentials, session cookies, CSRF tokens, and organization-specific endpoint values.

Running your own

To run Darpan on your own infrastructure, see Self-host in production.
